Welcome to New Members!

Club Information

  • The Club was founded as a mixed Bowling Club in 1968 and moved to the present green in 1972.
  • The club is run voluntarily with all functions controlled by an elected Management Committee.
  • From a bowling point of view we are affiliated to The Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association and also to Swindon and District (S&D) Bowling Association.
  • The club also accommodates a limited number of short mat members.

Outdoor Bowling (April to September)


We enter teams in several S & D afternoon and evening single sex leagues and the Ashley Baker mixed triples league

            Competitions Within the Club

Within the club we run an evening Aggregate competition on Mondays, an afternoon Aggregate on Thursdays and the Green King Triples League on Friday evenings.

During September, we run a week’s Open Floodlit competition  and in April, a Club Floodlit League for Full Members .

Knock-out Club competitions are played from June to September.

The finals are played on the specified Finals Day early in September. In addition, we hold two one-day competitions.

County Competition and  S & D Competitions

Mixed Friendly matches with other Clubs  played at the weekend

            Dress Code
Flat soled shoes must be worn at all times.. Greys or whites or Club shirt must be worn for all matches. Tailored Shorts are permitted and casual dress may be worn for “Roll-ups”.

Winter Activities (October to March)

            Short Mat
Special carpets are laid in the clubhouse to provide 2 short mat rinks. A Pairs League is played on Mondays and a Rinks League on Wednesdays. An aggregate competition is run on Thursday afternoons

Social Events
The club is open for social evenings every Friday.
Bingo is played on Tuesday evenings from September to March; we also hold Quizzes and other fun activities.
We hold our Club Dinner and Dance in February and our Trophy Presentation Evening in the autumn. Both events are open to all members and invited guests.


The club is financially self sufficient and we employ no staff.
Green keeping, catering, cleaning and Bar duties are carried out by the club members  on a rota basis.
Members are not charged a green fee to play on our green.
